Who doesn’t love to pretend to be a pirate! The practice of moving the ends of the kaleidoscope is perfect for wrist strengthening. Wrist strengthening is part of hand strengthening which is all part of hand writing development. So many of our kids struggle with hand writing.
This is one of the many tools you can keep in your sensory kit, either at home, or in a classroom. The children can play with the kaleidoscope, just by using it the way it is meant to be used, they are strengthening their wrist and therefore, improving the use of their hand muscles. Kaleidoscopes are optical instruments that contain mirrors and loose coloured beads which create patterns when the light reflects in from the opposite end.
