Description  

These mini smiley men provide a tactile and proprioceptive experience through stretching and manipulation.  The resistance offered during stretching can promote fine motor skills and hand strength.  Their flexibility allows for exploration of various positions, encouraging range of motion in the small muscles of the hands.  The added feature of adhering to smooth surfaces provides an opportunity for visual-motor integration as children coordinate their movements to achieve placement.  The smiley face design offers a positive visual stimulus and can be incorporated into social play scenarios.  The tactile input and manipulation may also provide a calming or focusing effect for some children, serving as a potential fidget tool.
